It was an emotional day in Starke Circuit Court yesterday as four Knox teens, charged with several counts of Burglary and one attempted burglary, had their initial hearing in front of Starke Circuit Court Judge Kim Hall. The counts of burglary stem from incidents of break-ins and thefts of property belonging to the Sand Bar at Bass Lake, Fletcher’s Carpet Warehouse in Toto, Bass Lake Pub and Ristorante and Dooley’s Bar in San Pierre on the dates February 17th, May 2nd, May 30th, June 1st, June 7th, and June 19th. Not all of the juveniles participated in every burglary.
Knox High School Principla, A. J. Gappa, has announced that Knox High School student, George Mammarella, has been named a Commended Student in the 2009 National Merit Scholarship Program. A letter of commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation, which conducts the program will be presented by the principal to George.
