Frederick Thomas Darwent, 85, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Knox, died August 30th. Frederick was born July 23, 1923, in Chicago, to Lewis and Olivia Kate (Middleton) Darwent, both deceased.

   He married Edith Marian Hansen on January 31, 1948, who survives. Also surviving are their children, Frederick "Rik" Darwent Jr. of Knox, William Darwent of Florida and George Darwent of Illinois; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

   A memorial service will take place Saturday, Sept. 13th, at 5 p.m. in the Kingdom Hall, Knox. M.C. Smith Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
