The Presidents of Indiana University and Purdue University have not signed a petition to lower the drinking age. Frances Cordova of Purdue said she would like to see more discussion on the issue, while President Michael McRobbie says he believes that 18 should be the age to legally drink alcohol but did not sign the petition.
At 4 PM this afternoon, the Knox WKVI will open the Festival with a ceremony on the platform at the Starke County Courthouse. After the opening ceremonies, the vendors and the carnival will be open until 10 PM. Tomorrow is the big day for Festival goers. WKVI’s Anita Goodan will have a full schedule of tomorrow’s events in tomorrow’s news.
Marijuana plants are being destroyed at the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore and adjacent properties. They are being incinerated in a high temperature furnace.
