Joan D. Stokes  

Joan D. Stokes, 77, of Walkerton, passed away Friday, May 30, 2008, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, IN. Mrs. Stokes was born June 6, 1930, in St. Joseph County, IN, to Edward and Iva (Ross) DiVine, and had lived in the area all of her life. On February 7, 1953, in Little Rock, AK, she was married to Dennis E. Stokes, who preceded her in death on January 7, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and four sisters. Survivors include two sons, Danny (Noni) Stokes of Mobile, AL, and Glen (Melissa) Stokes of Walkerton, IN; and one daughter, Carolyn Stokes of Warsaw, IN. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. (Eastern time) in Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. Burial will be at Polk Township Cemetery, Walkerton. Friends may call Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
