Mary Spevak

Mrs. Mary Frances Spevak, 88, of Southampton, Penn., and formerly of La Porte, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, at 7:50 a.m., at Southampton Estates, Southampton.

She was born March 16, 1919, in Altoona, Penn., to John and Frances (Cheslak) Szymusiak.

Mrs. Spevak worked as a machinist in the La Porte area during World War II. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Funeral Committee and former member of La Porte Travel and Camera Club.

On May 20, 1939, in Chicago, she married Michael Spevak, who died July 13, 1997.

Also preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters and six brothers.    

Surviving are two sons, Michael T. (Susan) of Bucks County, Penn., and Peter A. (Patricia) of Washington, D.C.

The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Essling Funeral Home, La Porte, with Rev. Ian Williams officiating.  Friends may call from noon until the service. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery, La Porte.
